ARE YOU NEW TO HOCKEY?

why inline hockey?

Maybe you heard about the sport from a friend or a neighbor.  Maybe you saw the rinks at Veteran's Park as you drove on the bypass.  Now you just want to find out more.

Inline hockey experienced its first major growth spurt in Southern California in the early 1990s.  Fast forward 30 years and inline hockey has become a global sport.

It spawned a first generation of elite travel teams that, in turn, spawned a series of major regional and national tournaments that continue to be supported by the inline hockey community.

Inline hockey is a fast growing sport right now. It not only teaches kids about the game, but also provides valuable life lessons, such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance.  Just look at some of the NHL players who credit inline hockey to help them get to the next level:

Pat Maroon Joel Ward Jason Zucker Mitch Marner
Rocco Grimaldi Bobby Ryan Connor McDavid Alex DeBrincat

Well, you're in the right spot.  HIHA offers programs for boys and girls at the youth level as well as high school aged players. There's no need to worry if your child hasn't played, our coaches and practice environment allow them to learn how to skate and stick-handle quickly.  Many kids have only picked up a hockey stick in the last year to two (or maybe never before), and every year we add more new kids to our program.
